Big changes are coming for Xbox users on Android.

Starting in November, Xbox App users on Android devices will be able to buy games and play them through Xbox Cloud Gaming, including their existing library, as shared by Xbox president Sarah Bond on Thursday via Threads. This comes shortly after Google was ordered by a court to open up its mobile storefront in the U.S, with the changes taking effect on Nov. 1, 2024.

“The court’s ruling to open up Google’s mobile store in the US will allow more choice and flexibility. Our mission is to allow more players to play on more devices so we are thrilled to share that starting in November, players will be able to play and purchase Xbox games directly from the Xbox App on Android,” Bond said.
